Douglas Burton
Game Developer
I bring over a decade of experience in the video game industry, with a recent focus on VR game development. My work on titles such as Glassbreakers, Batman: Arkham Shadow, and Moss: Book II has been instrumental in delivering immersive experiences through thoughtful level design, engaging gameplay systems, and seamless integration of narrative elements.
My technical expertise in Unreal and Unity game engines allows me to quickly prototype ideas, which supports the creation of dynamic gameplay, complex character AI, cinematic camera work and responsive UI systems, while my leadership of cross-disciplinary teams has consistently driven projects from concept to release. Leading to 2 VR Game of Year awards from 'The Game Awards' and various other entities, for Moss: Book II and Batman: Arkham Shadows. Moss was also featured in an Unreal Engine spotlight which highlighted our use of Unreal Blueprint and complex state machines.
My passion lies in collaborating with teams to craft compelling worlds and innovative mechanics that resonate with players. By working closely with narrative, art, and sound teams, I ensure the alignment of gameplay with thematic goals and storytelling. With a commitment to creating memorable gaming experiences, I also excel in writing clear documentation to support workflows, tools, and gameplay features.
