So about an hour ago today I re-discovered my motivation. I rarely work out because A) it’s not that fun B)it’s tiring and makes me stinky C)I can often find better things to do with my time. But today reminded me why I do work out whenever I get around to it. It’s because I don’t like to lose. If I race someone I don’t want to lose, if I arm wrestle someone I don’t want to lose, if I’m trying to get a date from a girl I don’t want to lose. Not losing is an awesome motivation.
Don’t get me wrong though I actually really don’t mind losing. Losing is a great way for me to self evaluate and see where I need to improve, so I actually kinda enjoy losing. They say you learn so much more when you lose than when you win.
I just lost a flag football game, the worst part is it was such a close loss. The fact that it was close just hurt more because I now feel like if I’d just been a little faster and a little stronger we would’ve won. Which is mostly true because the tying TD was scored by the guy I was guarding, his second catch of the whole game and he only got it because he out sprinted me just enough to get a hand on the ball….he was mad fast though so if I had to lose to somebody I’m happy it was him. So on the way home I picked up a nutrition book and some protein mix. It’s time to not just get in shape..cause I already quite enjoy my shape..but it’s time to get better, stronger, faster, and of course not lose.
So if you call me and I don’t answer just assume it’s because I’m busy getting ripped.
