A Night Out with the Scots.
Ok so I finally had a chance to go out and see the nightlife of Dundee. It was interesting.
To start off I meet my co-worker Ayeesha at a pub called ‘The Bond’ on thier karaoke night. Turns out she’s an awesome singer and lots of folks there knew her already from her singing on previous nights. It was fun. Tried some local drinks and ended our time there by downing a Guiness.
Then me, Ayeesha, Jody, and Ben(all from work also) headed to a nightclub called ‘The Underground’. It was a pretty cool place. Charged a cover charge which sucked. The music was awesome because it was R&B and hip-hop night, which aparently only Americans do because it was all American music. Til tonight most of the Dundee girls I’d seen have been just alright(7′s at the most) but at the club there were some definite hotties. I was a bit drunk by this point so that assessement may be wrong. Anyway I had a good time, danced to some good music and I now have my Thursday go to spot. I was getting looks and they hadn’t even heard that I was from another country yet…..which of course will only help.
Oddly enough my friend Jody(a guy) expressed that he assumed I was gay. Even after informing him that I wasn’t he kept coming back to it and mentioning that he didn’t beleive me. Fine with me I say, if I apparently look gay in Scotland then the more girls for me. I’m betting that just like American chicks they love guys who look a tad bit gay. No one else agreed with him so I figure I apparently don’t look too gay here that I have to worry about it.
Everyone says Scottish people can drink…I’ve yet to see that. I drank more than everyone else before they started turning down free drinks so I’m not impressed. I even slowed down since people weren’t drinking as much as me on my first beer. I don’t even drink a ton or that fast so maybe I just don’t know the right Scottish people yet.
Since it was too dark to get pictures of most of the night here are some images from the area nearby my apartment…more Scotland type pictures to come eventually.
