Besides the partying my favourite part of the New Year is being able to look back on the previous year and seeing how much has changed.

I still recall this time last year deciding I needed to get out of the country and see more of the world, I wanted to work on an MMO and in general I needed to get a job. Fast forward a year and I’m living in Scotland, working on an MMO. When I first got my passport I wasn’t even sure where I was going to go with it or how I’d get there since I had no job. Sometime you gotta just decide what you want from life and move towards it even if you don’t know exactly how you’re going to get there. I hit all my career goals for the year and knocked my relationship goals out the park too.

As I look forward to 2010, the question is what to aim for this year. I’ve got some ideas, but nothing I’m really set on or excited about going for. Going back home for a bit is definitely on the list. Hit up Austin, San Diego and Detroit to say hey to family & friends. Learn some guitar, maybe learn 4 songs well enough for them to be recognizable when I play them(that’s gonna be a hard one). Do some more cooking at home. See more of Europe.

Eh that seems like a decent list. I’ll just toss that on top of the usual every year goals, make more money, find more love, explore more of life and live everyday like it matters, like it really really matters. So remember everyone, take some time every now and then to look back at what you’ve done and where your going…and what better time to do that than the beginning of the year.
